Don’t Miss the Chance to Have Pregnancy Photography Done
While some days it feels like it’s going to last forever, pregnancy doesn’t and, before you know it, you’ve exchanged a giant belly for a beautiful baby. If you don’t have pregnancy photography done to keep memories of being pregnant, you’re missing out.
First put aside your fear of pregnancy photography. You don’t have to be naked! There’s some strange belief that you can only wear your birthday-suit when having pregnancy photography done and that’s simply not true. You can wear whatever you’d like of course and many women choose to use scarves or other props to conceal certain body parts.
Then put aside the fear in thinking you’ll look huge, or ‘very pregnant’, because you won’t. Often times, the best pregnancy photos don’t focus on a mom-to-be’s stomach, but her face instead. If you don’t want your stomach featured, tell the photographer as much. After all, you’re paying for them.
Admittedly, pregnancy photography is pretty intimate. I don’t think many women take photos of their pregnant bellies and send them off as Christmas Cards (or I hope not anyway). However, they can still be shared with others by keeping them in a portfolio or special album. I think girlfriends would be likely to sit around and compare photos of pregnancy… we compare everything.
As for cost, style, poses and professionals, I believe it’s wise to research around for a photographer who has past pregnancy photography experience and a portfolio you like.
While not my cup of tea, I know there are people out there who bring pregnancy photography right into the labor and delivery rooms. Again, not for me, as I’m a little busy and slightly distracted while giving birth, but for those who want pregnancy photos until the very last minute of pregnancy, then this is a gig for you.
Have fun while you’re pregnant and planning for baby’s arrival. Pregnancy photography is a great investment and even greater way to capture those memories.
